If I promise your sibling 10 dollars and promise you 2 million, would you attempt to get your sibling’s promise and forfeit your promise? The Lord provided several promises or covenants for his people starting from Adam. It was the promise recorded in Jeremiah 31:31-34 and explained in Hebrew 8:10-12 that we receive the confidence of the New Covenant. Lord said,
Hebrew 8:10(KJV) For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
The New Covenant isn’t on tables of stone that can be broken like Exodus 34:1. No, we enjoy a more intimate relationship, no longer the outward circumcision to the ministry of death (2 Corinthians 3:7) but an inward heart change thanks to the gift of the Holy Spirit living on the inside (1 Corinthians 3:16). We glory in the fact we are within Christ Jesus, therefore no longer a slave to sin.
Hebrew 8:12 (KJV) For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Through the mercy of our Lord, there is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (Roman 8:1). It is our covenant our promise from God, that our sins and iniquities are remembered no more. Join us Wednesdays at 7pm as we continue this message during Bible Study 218-486-3691 Passcode:570919
